I had some spare time, so I wandered around SVC a bit today, checking out the progress on construction and so on.
The old physics building is currently completely closed down for renovation. They will be calling it 'Science West' now, apparently. Moving everyone around, making a mess of things, etc. But the big, shocking news is that the're putting on a sloped roof! What will this do to Smetanka Lake?
I don't know what to think any more...

Science West? Are we even sure it is actually west? I think it may be more Southwest or even South by Southwest...

I'm looking at it on Google Maps right now, and it's actually a bit amusing how crappy "Science West" looks on the satellite image compared to the other buildings. And yeah, I would probably call it "Science South" if I had to assign a NSEW direction to it. The biology building can be Science North, and the chemistry building can be Science East. Did those buildings get renamed too, or is it only the physics building?

Everything is getting renamed. The very renovated former commons building will be both Science Central and Science South (the sign actually had both names on it, to confuse freshmen further.) Chem is now west, and Bio is now North.
Mostly, because Chem and Physics each will only get half a building now, so the names make no sense.
