I seem to vaguely remember finding this at some point, but since I got a new laptop I just left it at the default 1024x768 rather than bother with it. I may change that now that you've pointed it out, though.
I've been playing SimCity 4 a little bit more recently. I'm slowly filling in the region that I created with my Mathematica terrain generator.

I didn't know of this... hank goodness because I think I was getting eyestrain from the narrow views.... That and I like widescreen...

and you can actually take advantage of a larger monitor to see the entire city at once now. I think that's the real winner here..
